Prices for electricity supplied under statutory duty

Grid operators have a statutory duty to supply electricity until the customer has entered into an agreement with and started receiving electricity from an ordinary electricity provider.

The price  Stranda Energi AS nett  charges for electricity supplied under statutory duty tracks the spot price quoted on Nord Pool, plus a mark-up of NOK 0.0625/kWh inc VAT (NOK 0.0500/kWh ex VAT) for the first six weeks and a mark-up of NOK 0.1875/kWh inc VAT (NOK 0.1500/kWh ex VAT) for any further weeks.

Grid rental costs are payable in addition to the price quoted for electricity supplied under statutory duty.

Grid operators have a statutory duty to supply electricity until the customer has entered into an agreement with and started receiving electricity from an ordinary electricity provider. In accordance with the regulations issued by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) relating to metering, billing, etc, the prices and terms offered by the grid operators under their statutory duty to supply electricity shall be designed such that the end user is given an incentive, after the first six weeks, to enter into an ordinary electricity supply contract.

In this connection we draw your attention to the fact that electricity supplied on these terms (ie by the grid operator) will, after the first six weeks, be more expensive than electricity supplied by an ordinary electricity provider. We therefore urge you to make arrangements with an ordinary electricity provider as soon as possible.

There are many electricity providers to choose between. The majority of electricity providers offer a variety of different contracts. You yourself must make sure that you choose an electricity provider and enter into a contract that suits you.
